Class Descriptions

Strings 1 - Ages 9+ - Marissa Buelow, instructor

Fridays, 9:00-9:45 - B2 (Strings Room)

These classes, using the Essential Elements for Strings Books 1&2, offer students sound pedagogy and engaging music, all carefully paced to successfully start young players on their musical journey. Featuring both familiar songs and specially designed exercises, created and arranged for the classroom in a unison-learning environment, as well as instrument-specific exercises to focus each student on the unique characteristics of their own instrument, these classes give students with a wealth of material to develop total musicianship, even at the beginning and early stages.

Strings 2 - Ages 10+ (with one year of experience) - Marissa Buelow, instructor

Fridays, 10:30-11:15 - B2 (Strings Room)

Strings 3 - Ages 11+ (minimum of 2 years' experience on their instrument) - Marissa Buelow, instructor

Thursdays, 2:00-2:45 - B2 (Strings Room)

Ukulele 1 - Ages 8-10 - Shanna Buettner, instructor

Fridays, 9:00 - D3

Elementary level (ages 8-10) Students will learn basic chords and easy level songs for playing. Students will learn to read music and basic theory and rhythm. Parents are welcome to sign up along with their students. $80

Ukulele 2 - Ages 11-13 - Shanna Buettner, instructor

Fridays, 9:45-10:30 - D3

Ukulele 2 (9:45-10:30) Middle level (ages 11-13) Students will learn basics along with some more moderately difficult songs. Students that have some experience with the ukulele may ask to join the middle level class and will be admitted with approval from Mrs. Buettner. Parents are welcome to sign up along with their students. $80

Ukulele 3 - Ages 14+ - Shanna Buettner, instructor

High school and beyond (ages 14+) $80

Guitar 1 - Ages 10+ - Shanna Buettner, instructor

Fridays, 10:30-11:15 - D3

Guitar 1 (10:30-11:15) Basic level guitar (ages 10+) Students will learn about chords and reading music. We will learn basic chords and general music theory. $80

Guitar 2 - Ages 14+ - Shanna Buettner, instructor

Fridays, 12:00-12:45 - D3

Advanced level guitar (ages 14+) We will take our guitar playing to the next level learning more difficult chords and techniques. $80

 

Ukulele Jam - Thursdays, 2:00-2:30​ - Shanna Buettner, instructor

Any age and skill level is welcome to participate in our uke jams. We will spend time playing a variety of songs. $40
