Ryan Smith - Trumpet
Valley Troubadours has enjoyed the support of Ryan Smith (our band rep at Heid Music) since our program began. Many families know Ryan from our Beginning Band Instrument Demonstration days, and have been thankful for his friendly face and professional assistance when navigating their instrument needs at Heid's.
A homeschool graduate himself, he joins us this year on Fridays, offering on-site trumpet lessons to our students. We are excited to watch our trumpet section grow through his experienced tutelage as he works with our students individually, and for some group sectionals. Welcome, Ryan!
About
Ryan Smith has been sharing his love of the trumpet for 35 years, both as a performer and as a private teacher for more than 20 years, including time with the Lawrence Community School. Music has given him many opportunities to serve and connect with others, whether playing with the Appleton City Band or providing trumpet music for church services, weddings, and funerals. Ryan enjoys helping students grow in confidence, skill, and appreciation for music, and he brings a patient, encouraging approach to his teaching.
A graduate of Wheaton College, Ryan’s life has also been shaped by faith, service, and a desire to encourage others. He has served as an elder, taught youth and adult Sunday school, preached, and participated in a six-week mission trip to Estonia in 2022. Whether through music, teaching, or ministry, Ryan values opportunities to use his gifts in ways that bless and support the people around him.
