Dear A Cappella Choir Students:
We will be singing the National Anthem for the Timber Rattlers game on Wednesday, September 8th. All students (and attending parents, friends, & family) will need to purchase a ticket in order to participate.
Two things to remember:
1) Participating A Cappella Choir students MUST have their vocal part MEMORIZED (see instructions below), and come to the 9:30-11:00 rehearsal the Wednesday morning of game at the Badger Meeting House.
2) If your student(s) wishes to participate, but needs assistance with ticket costs, please let me know how the Music Boosters may be able to help.
A Cappella Choir Assignment
In order to participate in singing the National Anthem at the Timber Rattlers game, you need to MEMORIZE your part by September 7th (hopefully, the words are already memorized). If you are unsure of your voice part, please choose the one that is most comfortable for you to sing.
Click on the image of the sheet music to hear/watch a video of the full performance. I have also included the recordings of the Alto, Tenor, and Bass parts (the Soprano part should be self-explanatory). Please follow not only the notes, but the phrasing, as well (where to breathe/not breathe).
*It is helpful to recognize that the harmony from: "O say can you see" through "twilight's last gleaming" is identical to the second phrase: "Whose broad stripes" through "were so gallantly streaming."
These are rough recordings of me singing the vocal lines (1st alone, then with the other voices).
ALL PARTS (including Sopranos) listen and sing along with both sections to prepare (and gentlemen, my singing of your voice part is not pretty - but it should give you a decent idea)
